The Metro connectivity to Hosur Road is an upcoming elevated metro station on the North-South corridor. It is the Yellow Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore., which will be operational in November 2024. The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL) took permission to study a 20-km train link between Bangalore and a nearby industrial town. They asked for permission to do a feasibility study. Once approved, CMRL will find an expert for the study through a bidding process. The Karnataka government plans to extend BMCRL project from Bommasandra to Hosur. They informed the national government in 2022. This project will help daily commuters on Hosur Road. The 20.5 km stretch includes 11.7 km in Karnataka and 8.8 km in Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu government will fund a study to see if this idea is possible. If approved, it could be the first underground line in South India connecting two states. The Secretary of the MHUA asked BMRCL to plan the connection from Bommasandra to Hosur Road. This metro link will benefit thousands of workers since Hosur is an industrial town. The metro line will have 16 stops. It begins at Rashtriya Vidyalaya (RV) Road in South Bengaluru and ends at Bommasandra, near Electronic City. The estimated cost to build the yellow line is Rs 1,308 crore.
