Kempegowda International Airport Bangalore is an airport serving Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka. It covers an area of 4,700 acres and has been serving the city's people since 2008. It was named after Kempe Gowda I, the city's founder. The Airport became the first fully solar-powered Airport in the state, and CleanMax Solar developed it.
BIAL operates the airport, and it is 30 kilometers north of the city. The airport opened in 2008 as an alternative to HAL Airport. It was the original primary airport serving the city, and due to the increased traffic, this new airport was opened.

People can use free Wi-Fi in the airport for up to 45 minutes with a login. There is also a choice of using paid Wi-Fi at reasonable rates. Only people with local numbers or roaming packs can access Wi-Fi due to the OTP process. The area near the airport is developing fast due to the excellent transport network and the potential for the area's economic growth and rising demand.
